Top 5 Feature: Pink Maskerade

Pink Maskerade is an Akron-Canton Northeast Ohio area based band that is a revival of 90’s grunge, 2000’s Poppunk and 80’s Punk.  We love our music and want to share it with the world. Our music combines topics about life’s struggles, everything about love, self identity, doubt and heartbreak and everything in between. The band started in 2022. This year is all about exposure for us. We plan to start writing a new album (Sad Girl EP was released in 2023) and the work for that has already begun. We also plan on releasing and performing a new song called “Tidal Wave” in the near future. Pink Maskerade has had an exciting year so far: They recently released a new single called “ Change My Last Name ” and Mass Giorgini (producer and engineer of Rise Against and Alkaline Trio, as well as member of Screeching Weasals and Squirtgun) mixed and mastered it. They performed at many festival and events throughout the summer and fall: Porchrokr Festival (Highland Square in Akron Ohio), Punkzilla

Top 5 Feature: About 41 Bears

Findlay, Ohio is a desert for original music, and it is within that biome that About 41 Bears (A41B) is creating and encouraging others to create something new. A41B is a grunge, punk four-piece playing shows in Toledo, Columbus, Akron and anywhere in between. When facing a lack of venues willing to book original bands, the band started to put on their own shows in a nearby warehouse. The “Wherehouse” has the potential to become a steady place to feature bands that aren’t getting the attention they deserve, and that diy ethic drives the band forward. Fusing influences from grunge, punk, metalcore, and midwest emo, the Bears write songs about capitalism, religious trauma, mental health, and whatever else strikes a chord. Following 2022's full-length LP Dig Into The Skin , About 41 Bears self-recorded and mixed their new EP, Worm , in TT’s living room and the album is available now.
