Album Review: Destory Rebuild Until God Shows, Until God Shows, out now

2011 saw the birth of post-hardcore supergroup D.R.U.G.S. (Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows) and the band’s self-titled full length debut, D.R.U.G.S., grew them quite a massive cult following—reasonably so with its stacked list of personnel and unique twist on the genre. 

It’s clear why fans had such a soft spot for a band with only ONE stand alone album. So when Craig Owens (Chiodos) announced a follow up album to be released in 2022, it’s easy to assume that listeners and long time followers were left ecstatic and more than eager to hear the release. 

With such a large 11-year pause between releases like we saw with the first two albums, it was likely even MORE surprising for fans to hear that another follow up album was already on its way, this time only two short years following their second effort.

With the follow up to 2022's Destroy Rebuild, we now get Until God Shows (Velocity Records), an incredible showcase of Craig Owens and the band’s full capabilities. 

The album is explosive but still sensible and maintained. It’s well produced, almost to a pop standard, but in a way that works so well with everything going on and still keeps their unique edge. 

I can only imagine that diehard fans are more than happy with the band’s direction and progress. Until God Shows feels both fresh and explorative and manages to stand well both on its own AND against/with the first two albums.

An incredible mix of metal and electronic ambience. This release should scratch a LOT of itches for both fans and newcomers alike.
