Top 5 Feature: Hospital Brute

Bio     Hospital Brute is a four-piece band that formed in the Marion, Ohio area by Preston Bender and William Adkins in the summer of 2023. The two met one year prior and eventually decided on combining musical inclinations into a serious project.    They began playing with Jaxson Greenawalt in July of 2023 and quickly found steady footing with the prodigal drummer. The trio played shows for a couple months, where they would see their future bassist Bronson Gamble, a pivotal piece of Hospital Brute's story. It was Gamble's house and practice space in Meeker, Ohio that Adkins and Bender met for the first time. Gamble had the musical chops and the will to be in a great band, so naturally they all fit in perfectly.    After finding the lineup, the band had the privilege of being introduced to Rod Weaver who, out of his garage, runs Planet Weaver Studios and has helped Hospital Brute immensely in giving a space to practice and record music in Marion....

Album Gothenburg, Sweden power metal band HammerFall will release their 13th studio album Avenge The Fallen (Nuclear Blast) on Aug. 9.    Pre-order the album here:   https://hammerfall.bfan.link/avenge-the-fallen.ema . Review By Steve Jones, OOTB Publications  It’s been a long time since I’ve written for Out Of The Blue . I’d like to take a minute to thank Neil for inviting me to review the new HammerFall album, Avenge The Fallen . Let me tell you I was excited to hear the synthesizer in the introduction to the album’s title track “Avenge the Fallen.” “Hail to the King” and “Hope Springs Eternal“ offered some very creative old-school metal for those into epic tales of glory and servitude. I couldn’t help but be lifted by the overall tone of this album with its crispy guitar work blazing, drum beats and soaring vocals. I definitely recommend listening to this album. If you are into classic metal styles, download HammerFall Avenge The Fallen or maybe even ...

In this interview with OOTB, vocalist Kyle Bolduc discusses their longevity, live shows, new stuff on the way and more. Your music has a lot of diversity, a little something for everyone—from heavy in “ Sheep ” and “ Killerz ” to somewhat lighter in “ Sick Now ” and “ Please Be Over ”to even lighter in “ Might Be Insane ,” but overall, a little metal, a little hard rock—what influences the band to have such a diverse range of styles (even a wide range all within one song itself) when writing and why do you choose that approach?   The band appreciates all genres and styles of music, which is probably the main reason we write the way we do. We als...
