Top 5 Feature: Red Light Running

Red Light Running is an alternative rock band rising fast out of Columbus, Ohio, blending raw melodic grit with an acoustic edge.  Formed in 2024, the group brings a modern pulse to the spirit of ’80s and ’90s rock, drawing deep inspiration from the grunge and alternative icons that shaped a generation. At the center of it all is Brian Peirce, a seasoned performer with over a decade of experience on the mic and guitar. His songwriting is both visceral and vulnerable—backed by the heavy, hypnotic basslines of Peter Domin and the dynamic guitar textures of Matt Carrico, who gives each track a distinct emotional weight.  Together, they craft songs that are grounded, powerful, and sonically rich—music meant to move both your body and your brain. Their influences are as wide-ranging as their sound, channeling the energy of Chevelle, the intensity of System of a Down, and the melodic hooks of Third Eye Blind, while also tipping the hat to legends like Ozzy Osbourne, Danzig, a...

Top 5 Feature: Lex Bauman

Lex Bauman is a mix of classic cool and fun modern power pop. Lex started playing guitar at a very young age. He immediately found his purpose in the sound and feel of the instrument and he began playing live shows with professional bands at the age of 10.  In 2020, when the world stopped, Lex doubled down on his commitment to music—he learned to write and record as well as putting in countless hours of guitar practice and, seeing where his life was headed, began working on his vocal skills.  As the world opened back up, Lex began headlining his own shows and opening for national acts. Since, he has entertained countless people and always puts on an amazing live show. In 2023, Lex began working on his biggest project to date: he enlisted Tuk Smith to co-write and produce new music. The result of Lex and Tuk's collaboration is an  explosion of power pop. With amazing melodies, huge harmonies, catchy lyrics and driving guitar hooks, the songs will put you in min...

Review & Photos: Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts in Cleveland, Ohio

Review By Christian Cole, OOTB Publications Photos By Neil Shumate, OOTB Publications This past Friday, Aug. 15, a large and diverse crowd of eager onlookers at Cuyahoga Falls’ beautiful Blossom Music Center were dealt a legendary career-spanning set of songs from a genre wanderer.  The legend in question?  The one and only: Neil Young.  The evening began with an opening set by Reverend Billy and The Church Of Stop Shopping; an eclectic and soulful gospel group lead by enigmatic frontman Reverend Billy.  The band, with their televangelist inspired leader, laid upon the crowd a unique and interesting set with stage presence to match.  Singing in typical gospel fashion and sermon-like speech deliveries, the band put on an intriguing set unlike anything I’d seen before.  Instead of preaching the word of the gospel, though, Reverend Billy and his choir delivered their message of mass consumerism tearing apart a crippling nation, and a need to reconnect w...
