Album Review: All Sinners, We Own The Night

By Justin Bauer, OOTB Publications

We Own The Night (Rat Pak Records) by hard rock act All Sinners, out of Boston, offers up an exquisite trek through soaring guitar work and a vocal presentation that hails a throwback to the best rock the 1980’s had to offer.

The guitar solos have a Metallica feel in terms of quality and technical ability while still offering wonderfully audible hooks. Thrash influences and high-flying solos lets out the kind of battle cry that will resonate with audiences.

The album opens with “Embers Rising,” a guitar riff starts things off with a low tempo lead. This instrumental intro dives straight into “Into the Flames,” which is a crisp and tight song. Modern production techniques bring the drums to the forefront while the guitars and vocals pay homage to their influences.

All Sinners have given a record that will please fans of Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest. This is not to say the record sounds dated, but it’s the kind of hard rock that reminds me of childhood in the early ‘90s, before grunge took over radio stations.

Even with that sentiment in mind, We Own The Night comes with all the trims and trappings of modern production techniques while maintaining an authentic vision and sound. The vocal performance dialed up stirs youthful energy and the resurgence of a rebellious spirit that can never be put to rest.
