Album Review: Coxey’s Army, Stand Together. Keep The Faith.

By Brandi Genzen, OOTB Publications

Today, Monday, Oct. 6, marks the debut album release of Central Ohio band Coxey’s Army. The LP—Stand Together. Keep The Faith.—is available on vinyl, CD, and digital platforms.

This Celtic Punk Rock band of miscreants made the scene in 2022.

Coxey’s Army reminds me of a young Dropkick Murphys with its Celtic lilt, Americana, and feel-good sarcasm; you know, the kind that’s full of anger, but said with a grin.

The album is very relatable to the hard working, blue collar citizens that have known nothing but hard labor for generations—the loyalty, blood, sweat, tears, all for little return.

Songs of brotherhood and injustice. Songs of not knowing where home really is or where you really belong. We all do the best we can to be the best in given circumstances.

Stand Together. Keep The Faith. will leave you feeling heard and understood—a little less alone in the uncertainty of it all.

Give the new record a listen, let it make you tap your foot while you sing along… releasing your own felt injustice into the universe.

It gives me the most sadistic little pleasure to be angry and dance happily about it.

It’s therapeutic, if you will, and it made my weekly drive quite pleasant.

Lead vocalist Nate Rising on the album:

“This album came out of a time in my life when everything I had built over the past decade was being pulled out from under me. My community had fallen apart, my future was uncertain, and everything I had worked for had been taken away. When I decided to start over, I kept using the phrase ‘Stand together, keep the faith’ as my creative mantra. It only made sense to name the record after it.”

The album was recorded and mixed by Mike (Lamentor) Walter at The Dugout and mastered by Sef Idle at Simpul Studios, the album is a testament to the DIY ethic that drives Coxey’s Army.
