Concert Review: Our Last Night in Cleveland, Ohio

Every time I walk into The Agora, I’m always amazed by what a great venue it is—clean, comfortable, and no bad view in the house.

It takes a lot for me to dedicate four hours of driving to and from a show; but, this wasn’t just any show: It was a farewell tour of sorts.

Our Last Night is a post-hardcore band formed in 2004 from New Hampshire that has made a name for themselves with their metal and hardcore covers of pop songs.

Becoming more and more popular through social media and apps like TikTok, they put a unique spin on some of the most popular songs in recent years, along with some great original material.

They announced this as their last tour.

While they’re not done making music after two decades, they’re done with the grind of the road and nonstop touring, wanting to spend more time with their families.

So, I grabbed a White Monster, some Zyn Pouches, and pointed my ride north—heading to Cleveland.

I arrived just as the first opener, Windwalkers, was taking the stage.

They performed a solid rock set, showing all the effort and skills you'd expect from a band trying to make a name for themselves.

Grayscale took the stage next.

Their alternative rock sound with a pop-punk twist was excellent. They had great stage presence, and I texted my fiancé to tell her it was a band we should listen to more.

Then, it was time for Our Last Night.

These guys showered the audience and Cleveland with praise and put on one hell of a show. The sound was perfect, the crowd was rocking, and the light show was superb.

I eased my way closer to the front, watched a pit form, and helped a few people up and into the crowd.

At one point, a hand grabbed me and I was hoisted up—quite willingly—and trusted my close friends to manhandle me through the crowd, staring at the ceiling with a giant grin on my face.

A large security guard then cradled me like a baby and gently set me down; it’s been years since I’ve crowd surfed, and it was definitely one of the highlights of my night.

Our Last Night played for an hour and a half, with their covers of “Hot Girl Bummer” (Blackbear) and “abcdefu” (Gayle) standing out.

They closed the show with covers of “Iris” (Goo Goo Dolls) and “Beautiful Things” (Benson Boone) before returning for an encore of their original song “Sunrise” from their 2013 EP Oak Island.

Great bands. Great venue. Great show.

Until next time.
