Album Review: Bad Wolves, Die About It: Deluxe Edition

By Brandi Genzen, OOTB Publications

This Friday, Sept, 19, Bad Wolves is re-releasing their fourth studio album, Die About It, as a Deluxe Edition (Better Noise Music).

All of us by now have heard of Bad Wolves; if for nothing else, we’ve all heard their 2018 chart-topping version of The Cranberries’ song “Zombie.”

Bad Wolves was formed in 2017 out of Los Angeles, California and some members have changed with the exception of founding members John Boecklin (drummer) and Chris Cain (guitar).

The platinum certified top charting hard rock band has done it again with this latest deluxe album release.

Having nearly 10,000 followers on Facebook, this band is sure to be around for the decades.

Where do I even begin?

Let’s start with the artistry in their video for “Say It Again.”

The song, paired with the video, leaves you questioning the future in which the human path could be on.

The sci-fi robotic video displays an ungrateful “evil” scientist destroying one of his creations only to be destroyed by another more intelligent version he created. Humans are our own worst enemy since the beginning of time.

It is a song and video combination that will leave you in thought.

Bad Wolves show dedication on this album with extras that include: featured artists, orchestra, live recordings, and dipping toes in several genres.

It would take days to go through what I enjoyed personally, so I will tell you my favorites.

“Bad Friend” gets me with its riffs and drums. “Masquerade” gives a faster, harder Nickleback feel; it’s timeless.

And my favorite from this album is “Legends Never Die.” The song hasn’t left my mind since I first listened. It’s easy to sing to and it sticks like gum to a shoe on a hot day—it never stops reminding you it’s there.

“Legends Never Die” is one of those songs we will hear being covered by other artists in 15, 20 years. The whole album was made to be relevant for a very long time.

Bad Wolves has been a favorite of mine since 2020.

Having featured so many amazing artists like Daughtry and KILLBOY on this album, along with many on past albums, Bad Wolves will continue hitting the top of the charts.

Bad Wolves have yet to disappoint with any of their members, past or present. This Deluxe Edition of Die About It is an album for the ages.
