Daizha Brichette-Elie Johnson, formally known as Cherimondis J, is a Columbus-based, Dayton-born musician.

As a classically trained concert pianist and 2023 graduate of The Ohio State University School Of Music, the singer-songwriter, arranger, composer, producer and performer is known for her experimental fusion of classic soul and modern R&B.

Her music has been described as “incomparable” “soulful,”breathtaking” and “unlike anything most have heard.” With her technique of combining genres hinting from past sounds to present, and some which have yet to be attained, she courageously pushes the envelope by creating new uncharacteristic sounds pulled from the depth of sources both internal and external.

Her road as a professional musician started in 2017 as she attended Stivers School For The Arts and in 2019 she had her first album release show with collaborative partner Derek Christopher.

That led to accomplishments, such as: performing at The King Arts Complex protest show, the Juneteenth Celebration at Bossy Girls Pinup Joint, Pride Prom, and the first Fem Festival hosted by She Burns Bright LLC. Cherimondis J has even been a player at the International Liszt Piano Festival and competition at The Ohio State University School Of Music.

Her more recent accomplishments include: performing at the Columbus Steadfast Music Festival at Natalie's Grandview, performing at the Veterans Event hosted by Rick Gettin at Big Room Bar, performing at Cap City Crush hosted by Jason Smith of BerthaHill Music Production, performing Backstage at the Lincoln Theater, and opening for the well-known Columbus’ based performer Trek Manifest.

Media features of her includes: an article in Columbus Alive Magazine, Matter News, several features on Rick Gethin’s Cat Club Podcast and radio play on 614Columbus Magazine as well as a more recent featured article on Tuned Up Magazine and a podcast session with Jamaal Moses of the M4lionclub in correspondence to her first and latest album release titled, Dove Archer.

Her philosophy that she carries and showcases inside her music is the ever flowing changes of the human dilemma, and she hopes that by sharing her experiences through song, that others will have a light to look up to; but, most importantly, they will have the strength and courage to be the ones

to make change.

Her mission statement lies in breathing life into others, and being the powerhouse for all.

Recent Releases

The first single “Anxiety” from the highly anticipated upcoming album—due out later this year between late Fall/early Winter—is now on most streaming platforms. The second single, “Bearings,” will release August 18 on most streaming platforms.
