Country music fans from all over packed into Ohio Stadium on June 14th for the 2025 Buckeye Country Superfest, and the event lived up to every bit of the hype—and then some.
With around 80,000 in attendance, the energy was off the charts from morning tailgates to the final firework explosion over the stadium.
The day kicked off bright and early at 10 a.m. with a tailgate party in the park outside the stadium, featuring live performances from up-and-coming country acts. The vibe was pure summertime joy – lawn chairs, cowboy hats, cold drinks, and plenty of boot-stomping music.
Once doors opened at 2 p.m., the stadium began filling quickly.
At 3 p.m., Vincent Mason took the stage and impressed the growing crowd with his honest songwriting and crisp vocals. It was a solid opener that set a heartfelt tone for the night.
Dasha followed with her infectious blend of pop-country, bringing both charm and confidence to the stage. Her set was a fun burst of energy that had people singing along and dancing with the rhythm.
Treaty Oak Revival came in hot, bringing southern rock grit and outlaw energy that gave the show a jolt of adrenaline. Their crowd interaction and raw vocals made their set one of the highlights of the day.
As the sun slowly started to dip and golden hour settled over the stadium, Megan Moroney took her turn in the spotlight. Her blend with strength, matched with her smoky voice and storytelling lyrics, had the stadium hooked. From heartbreak ballads to empowering anthems, she delivered it all.
Then came Jelly Roll—and for many, including myself, this was the emotional and artistic peak of the night.
Once a Nashville underdog, Jelly Roll has defied nearly every genre boundary in his path, evolving from a rapper and southern rock artist into one of country music’s most authentic and inspirational voices.
His performance at Buckeye Country Superfest was more than just a set, it felt like a moment. From the opening notes, he had the audience in the palm of his hand, delivering raw, soul-baring lyrics that spoke to redemption, struggle, and personal growth.
What sets Jelly Roll apart isn't just his music, it’s his message. His songs, often rooted in pain and perseverance, reflect his journey from addiction and incarceration to becoming a Grammy-nominated artist collaborating across genres.
He’s worked with everyone from country stars like Lainey Wilson and Brantley Gilbert to hip-hop icons and rock legends. That willingness to push boundaries and unite audiences was on full display Saturday night.
Then came the surprise that no one saw coming: actor Kevin James walked on stage—dressed like Jelly Roll. The crowd went wild. Together, they performed a duet that was as hilarious as it was heartwarming.
Kevin’s appearance was a perfect reminder of how Jelly Roll has become more than just a musician—he’s a cultural force, reaching audiences far beyond country radio.
Finally, Kane Brown closed the night in spectacular fashion. His set was a high-energy showcase of his hits, and the production was next level.
Massive fireworks and pyro displays turned Ohio Stadium into a blaze of light and sound, leaving everyone buzzing long after the final note.
Buckeye Country Superfest 2025 was a celebration of everything country music has become: diverse, emotional, joyful, and evolving. With artists like Jelly Roll leading the way—unapologetically blending genres, telling real stories, and breaking every mold—the future of country music feels bigger and brighter than ever.
Keep your eye out for next year’s festival.
