Album Review: Archers, Temporary High

Written By James Magill, OOTB Publications

I had the chance to preview Archers' Temporary High (SBG Records), and I really dug it. Loud, aggressive metal with some great vocals. Five songs that express both rage and heartbreak.

I especially enjoy the fact that the vocals aren’t overproduced or drenched in effects. It feels like the singer is actually singing, and the unclean vocals and screams are spot-on.

Hearing these tracks took me back to walking into a Hot Topic in the early 2010s. It's the kind of music you'd hear blasting in the store, then ask the scene kid behind the counter what band it was. You'd rush over to FYE to grab the album. And that's the highest compliment I can give.

They are starting a US tour in July with two stops in Ohio. Make sure to check them out.
