Album Review: Mad Invasion, Crack In The Sky

Written By Brandi Genzen, OOTB Publications

Mad Invasions new album, Crack In The Sky (Border Music), definitely hit my little nostalgia button perfectly centered.

The intro to every song brought me right back to my childhood in the ‘80s—reminded me of staying up on the weekends and watching Headbanger’s Ball with a

bag of Doritos, a bag of M&Ms and my can of soda! Flashbacks of movies like Ferris Bueller and Top Gun.

There is no doubt this band is a group of seasoned and well-practiced members, all having perfected their craft.

I could find no flaws in any of the album’s tracklist; it was exceptional.

My first cassette tape buys were Cinderella and Bon Jovi, and I’d say Mad Invasion gives me similar feels.

My favorite song on Crack In The Sky is “Voodoo Queen,” so naturally I had to watch the video.

The video gives a little dance between the wise and old Voodoo Queen and the newly fallen angel, whom was young and naive.

The album’s theme is that of the Dark Lord and a newly fallen Angel. The battle she must win to choose good over the evil that lives within… admit it, even the most angelic of us all has a dark side, but do we succumb?

The album features special guest Mikkey Dee from Scorpions, on drums.

I would definitely give this Swedish classic rock band a listen. It’s an album for all ages and unlikely to offend any ears.
