Album Review: Goose, Everything Must Go

Over the course of the last several years, Goose has won over the jam scene and taken the world by storm with their intricate melodies, tight jams and an onstage chemistry that is nearly unmatched.

Now, they’re readying up for the release of their latest full-length LP Everything Must Go (Coincidence Records), marking their first official studio release with new drummer Cotter Ellis. 

In the jam band scene we too often hear, “I prefer the live stuff”; because, it’s so hard to capture the magic of something so spontaneous and big and then distill it into something much more contained.

It’s rare to find a band who can do so in a way that maintains that same magic, but with Everything Must Go, Goose proves that what isn’t EASY is still very much possible. 

Everything Must Go is a mesmerizing mosaic of everything that encompasses what Goose can do—a true showcase of versatility, depth and structure. 

It boasts slick and funky melodies, syncopated rhythm sections meant to melt faces, sizzling hot lead guitar and some of their best songwriting to date.

Even In the face of another line up change (2025 departure of Jeff Arevalo), Goose shows no signs of slowing it down any time soon—peddling out quite possibly their greatest studio effort yet with Everything Must Go, a full-force sonic endeavor with unmatched construction and delivery from start to finish.

Longtime Goose fans and newcomers alike are in for a solid treat, something slick and explorative to groove to all summer long.
