Show Date: Sunday, March 16, 2025
Making an impressive entrance with projected optical illusions on a tall back-screen, K.Flay engaged fans inside a 3D box with “Bar Soap” and “Giver” before appearing in front to perform “Raw Raw” across a saturated red lit stage, alongside a trailing hologram in the background which mirrored her motions in unison.
She used the screen for background image effects throughout the set here and there, most notably during “Are You Serious;” however, it was her strong voice and energetic compulsive dancing with jumps, twists, kicks, arm flailing and air punches that caught the eyes of fans, creating a contagious reciprocal response from the packed crowd.
The multi-platinum artist performed for more than 90-minutes—songs included 2017 Grammy nominated song “Blood In The Cut” and other tracks from Grammy nominated album Every Where Is Somewhere (“High Enough,” “The President Has A Sex Tape,” “Giver”), but the setlist focus remained on MONO, her latest 5th full-length album.
The 40-year-old musician, who’s name is Kristine Flaherty, also paid homage to her early years with a solo backing beat and a sweltering, fast-paced rap that came close to the speed of Twista.
Before performing lighter versions of “Chaos Is Love” and “Punisher” from her most recent 6-song EP, I’m Making Friends With The Silence (which features re-imagined softer versions of songs from MONO), K.Flay acknowledged her 2022 sudden right ear hearing loss (SNHL); she inspired by mentioning resilience, perseverance and accepting her challenging sensory deafness and continuing to move forward despite life changes.
K.Flay delivered a top-notch energetic set leaving the crowd wanting more; fans surely traveled home with memories of an unforgettable show. The 25-date concludes at the end of March.
