A stacked five band lineup brought heavy fury to The Agora on Halloween night in Cleveland, Ohio—Mushroomhead, Fear Factory, Nine Treasures, Bittersweet Revenge, The Jotunn.
Traditionally, Mushroomhead performs in their home city of Cleveland during Halloween season, and, of course, traditionally the ten members brought a remarkable live show, alongside their signature open stage production—masks, jumpsuits, lit water drums, coordinated instrumentation. With different lineups, they’ve been at it for three decades, so fans can always expect a phenomenal, top notch show.
Fear Factory brought their signature cyber metal with a ferocious set that included classics as well as heavy hitting new song “Roboticist.” Pete’s drumming was a welcomed machine gun assault to the ears of spectators.
The energy was explosive with newer vocalist Milo (since 2023) going from one side of the stage to the next to shout lyrics in the faces of fans, as he perched atop speakers and leaned down with his mic outward, giving fans opportunities to sing.
Nine Treasures delivered a unique set with high energy—unique, because, in addition to guitar, bass and drums, they included stringed Mongolian cultural instruments Morin Khuur, Balalaika, Tovshuur—and it works well in metal, as has been represented by familiar band The Hu.
The quintet had a strong stage presence with hypnotizing moments of Tool and full throttle folk rock and metal. Vocalist, guitarist Askhan expressed gratitude to Mushroomhead and Fear Factory by thanking them for bringing them to the United States.
Bittersweet Revenge occupied the stage with a rockin’ and rollin’ set; crunchy baritone vocals and standout guitar solo sections. A not to miss Cleveland area local band.
The Jotunn brought the rage with undeniably brutal vocals and a heavy demanding force of metal music that pumped the crowd up, with a performance that could easily headline any show. The area local Clevelanders are a force to be reckoned with.
Without a doubt, attendees are already looking forward to next Halloween’s lineup; until then, Mushroomhead and Fear Factory continue on the road for their current co headlining Soul Of A New War Machine Tour.
