The Real American Tour, featuring headliner Brantley Gilbert, with support from Jay Webb and John Morgan, stopped in Huber Heights, Ohio at The Rose Music Center on Thursday, Oct. 1.
Not only was it the final show of The Rose’s 2026 concert season, but it was also Military Appreciation night, celebrating and honoring active duty service members, veterans and their families.
Along with a vigorous drummer and lively animated guitarist, Jay Webb opened the night with a 30 minute set having a series of originals and a couple fun cover songs—Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” and Flo Rida’s “Low.”
Songwriter and vocalist John Morgan delivered a laid back 45 minute performance with solid soft vocals and sturdy talented backing musicianship.
The 31 year old’s setlist included new single “Cry Baby” and songs from his debut album Carolina Blue, including Jason Aldean featured song “Friends Like That” and chart topper “Kid Myself.”
Towards the end of the set, the songs sped up and got heavier, including crowd loving cover of Dierks Bentley’s “What Was I Thinkin’.”
Brantley Gilbert brought the house down with his heavy country sound and deep raspy vocals. Room was made for lots of pyro and plenty of guitar driven work.
With eight albums released since 2009, Gilbert had a lot of setlist options. He performed a variety of songs, including a few from his most recent album, Sins Of The Father—“Good Ol Boys,” “The Addiction,” “Good Damn” and others.
Before performing “Country Must Be Country Wide,” Gilbert told the crowd: “The first time I played in Ohio, I was like, hell yeah, they’ve got rednecks up here too!Through the years, you’ve made this Georgia boy feel right at home in Ohio.”
Fans sang loud to patriotic tour title opener “Real American,” popular 2014 single “Bottoms Up,” and later his cover of country favorite Toby Keith’s “Courtesy Of The Red, White and Blue (The Angry American).”
