For 15 years, Liverpool, England’s Brit Floyd have toured internationally paying homage to renowned progressive rock legends Pink Floyd.
The tribute band—with lead members Damian Darlington (founder, guitar, vocals) and Ian Cattell (bass, vocals)—give fans a memorable experience by going all out for an elaborate production, with every song meticulously performed and matched with album quality sound.
Each tour, the band focuses on different albums and eras from Floyd’s expansive 15-album catalogue career—this particular tour spotlights The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973) and The Wall (1979).
The theatrical set—featuring about ten musicians on stage—included a spectacle of state-of-the-art lighting, lasers, video projections, and inflatables.
On Friday, July 24, the band performed two sets between a 20-minute intermission, each set about 75-minutes, at The Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, Ohio.
Set One and Set Two was heavily centered on various songs from all four sides of The Wall and included about six songs from The Dark Side Of The Moon and a couple fan favorites scattered in from A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, Wish You Were Here and Meddle.
It was a jaw dropping visual and sonic pageantry welcoming older generations to re-experience Floyd as nostalgia and giving newer younger generations the ability to experience Floyd for the first time in a distinguished manner.
Brit Floyd exceeded expectations by respectfully and rightfully honoring Pink Floyd’s music and stadium tours—without a doubt, they top the list of tribute bands, alongside Zoso (Led Zeppelin), Dark Star Orchestra (Grateful Dead), The Iron Maidens (Iron Maiden), Almost Queen (Queen), The Ultimate Doors (The Doors).
