Ohio has been a hotbed of incredible local talent for quite some time now, and Pembridge is no exception. The Ohio metal scene is blessed with countless incredible acts and Pembridge sits high on that list.
Tomorrow, June 24, we receive the Toledo area band’s eight track self titled release, and it is absolutely stellar; genuinely some of the best Ohio metal I’ve heard in awhile.
With incredible riffs, powerful vocals and an amazing atmosphere, the LP takes you on an emotional and cathartic journey.
The drumming stands out to me as well as the general production of the album. It is well mixed while not feeling overly polished, in a poppy sense.
Bouncing from searing hot riffs to chugging and droning, it is a solid mix of influence that helps keep the band feeling fresh.
Dissonant chords and deep gutterals that switch to strained screams, the emotion is present and raw for the entirety of the listen.
Pembridge’s self-titled LP should fall right into every Ohio metal head’s playlist, and further growth is certainly expected. With their incredible dynamics and unique sound, this band is bound for better and better.
Do yourself a favor and get the album; you just might find your latest metal obsession.
