Everyone get out your flannels, ripped jeans and combat boots. Take yourself back to the ‘90s when grunge, alternative, and indie rock were all the rage. Now, let’s go for a ride!
Collective Soul is releasing their new album Touch and Go (Fuzze-Flex Records) tomorrow, Friday, July 31–an album with an 80’s New Wave, pick me up and make me feel lighter, kind of sound.
Having formed in 1992 with their first album on scene in 1994, this Atlanta, Georgia based band has been making No. 1 hits on the charts (eight No. 1 hits to be exact), they have released 13 albums and have solidly worked together for more than 30 years.
“Rainbow,” the first song on the new record begins with a groovy Austin Powers’ type of feel. Although the melody is a very hippy jive, the lyrics leave you with thought—touching on the topic of nature and the theft of its beauty.
“All My Days Through” is the fourth track that left me wanting to drink wine and speak my mind.
Hold on while I go grab my hairspray, the sixth track, “Fun,” is by far my favorite of the album; but, don’t let the last track, “Shooting For You,” slip through your fingers—it’s a nice little night cap to the end a long day.
Every song intro will have you foot tapping or make your shoulders give a little shimmy.
Collective Soul gives inspiration and a voice of wisdom. Beautiful instrumentals and lyrics for the ages.
