As part of their farewell Final Frontier Tour, Journey visited Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on Monday, March 16.
The six-member band, that formed fifty-three years ago in San Francisco, is composed of original member Neal Schon (lead guitar, backing vocals), who previously performed with Santana (1971-1973), Bad English (1987-1991) and Hardline (1991-1992); longtime members Jonathan Cain (keyboards, piano, backing vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica) and Deen Castronovo (drums, backing and lead vocals); more recent members Jason Derlatka (keyboards, backing and lead vocals) and Todd Jensen (bass, backing vocals); as well as lead vocalist Arnel Pineda, who has been Journey’s frontman since 2007, following five former vocalists: Gregg Rolie (1973–1980), Robert Fleischman (1977), Steve Perry (1977–1998), Steve Augeri (1998–2006), Jeff Scott Soto (2006–2007).
The rock legends with easy-to-recognize iconic hits, performed with a new production in front of a full house for “a special evening with” set; which included solo segments (piano, guitar, drums) and a setlist of almost 25 songs from some of their 15 studio album catalogue: “Be Good To Yourself,” “Stone In Love,” “Only The Young,” “Just The Same Way,” “Suzanne,” “Lights,” “When You Love A Woman,” “Escape,” “Chain Reaction,” “Dead Or Alive,” “Who’s Crying Now,” “Wheel In The Sky,” “Faithfully,” “Feeling That Way,” “Anytime,” “Walks Like A Lady,” “Ask The Lonely,” “I’ll Be Alright Without You,” “Open Arms,” “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’,” “La Do Da,” “Separate Ways,” “Any Way You Want It,” “Don’t Stop Believin’”
Journey, who has sold more than 100 million albums globally and earned 19 Top 40 singles, conclude their extensive 60-date final tour in July.
