Country-pop singer-songwriter Priscilla Block brought her extensive headline tour to Columbus, Ohio at The Bluestone on Thursday, Feb. 26.
The Monster Energy Outbreak “Things You Didn’t See Tour”—supporting Block’s latest 14-track MCA sophomore album—was lively and well-received by all those attending.
Platinum-certified track “Just About Over You,” and Block’s first No. 1 country radio hit, “You, Me, And Whiskey,” a duet with Justin Moore, were performed along with her entire new album Things You Didn’t See and fan favorites from her 2022 debut studio album, Welcome To The Block Party, including “My Bar.”
Here and there, the Nashville, Tennessean by way of Raleigh snuck in some solid cover songs, including an acoustic version of Shania Twain hit “You’re Still The One” and a sit down, laid back version of Billie Eilish’s Grammy-nominated “Birds Of A Feather.”
Despite Block’s sometimes melon collie personal lyrics, she radiated confidence and spread positive energy throughout the building, which was contagious and lit up fan’s faces with smiles and cheers.
Much of the packed crowd—decked out in cowboy hats, flannel button ups, boots and blue jeans—joyfully sung all the lyrics aloud as Block vulnerably opened up and introduced some songs and shared her journey about writing the record with sincerity, honesty and realness.
Block was personable, interacting and connecting with the audience throughout the performance—including tossing a rose into the crowd for the single girls—which surely left a memorable impression.
She also complimented the fans: “Country music is on fire and it makes me happy! So many people are coming over to country… you know why? Because country music has the best fans!”
Rising country artist Mae Estes opened the night with a 45-minute set that got the crowd moving and singing along during “Mountain Of A Man” and acoustic “Thinkin’ ‘Bout Cheatin’.”
Both artists had talented backing bands with band members often walking front and center to rock out and rawl up the crowd.
This tour concludes soon, but Block currently has a slew of summer dates scheduled.
