With the new single “Horizons” recently being released, what do you hope listeners take from the song or what message—both lyrically and sonically?

Lyrically, “Horizons” is the most honest song we’ve released. With the help of our guitarist Jay Sarrazin and the other writers on the song, we really captured the angst and general turmoil that comes with becoming sober.

Sonically, it’s the heaviest we’ve ever been. Jay and Wes have really brought that intensity into Sierra Pilot that hasn’t been there before and I’m THRILLED about it.

How did everything come together for the current Animal Instincts Tour throughout November with Pop Evil and Bad Wolves?

We toured with Pop Evil on their Flesh And Bones Tour back at the end of April of this year. We had such an amazing time with them and grew so much as a band on that tour that when the opportunity came to us we just had to jump on it.

We did four shows in the states on the Flesh And Bones Tour and we couldn’t wait to get back here. We feel very privileged to tour the US with such amazing guys!

How do compare Sierra Pilot’s listener experience with studio albums and the Sierra Pilot in-person fan experience at live shows?

We have tried to keep the studio aspect pretty standard and radio friendly, but our shows are a completely different animal. We give 150 percent every night. Lots of sweat, sometimes blood, always good times!

Blending genres into your sound, what is your personal favorite genre overall and why that genre?

I mean our favourite genre is obviously anything rock based. I’ve always loved bringing Pop, Country and Metal aspects into our music though. I think in our world today, that is the only way to stay creative.

Looking ahead to 2025, what are some of the band’s plans and goals?

We’re writing the next album now, but honestly we want to just be playing as much as possible. Hopefully we’ll be lining up some runs for 2025 soon.
